I will also have the perfect gifts to put with your books to make a special package for that special someone! Add a adorable deer hat, crocheted deer that resemble Pearl & Jovie, and a silver bell that says "Believe" on it! There will be FREE bookmarks whether you make a purchase or not!

Contest Rules and Terms of Agreement: 

NO PURCHASE IS NECESSARY TO ENTER. YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING DO NOT INCREASE WITH A PURCHASE. 

1. Eligibility 

Void where prohibited by law. Entrants are not limited by geography. All ages of entrants are eligible. Entrants under the age of 18 must act under an adult’s supervision. Employees, subsidiaries, affiliates, suppliers, advertising and promotion agencies, employees’ immediate family members, etc., are ineligible to participate in the contest/giveaway. 

2. Sponsorship 

This contest is run by Fallow Tales Childrens Books 

3. Agreement to Rules 

By entering this contest, participants agree to abide by the Sponsor’s Official Rules and decisions. Fallow Tales has the right to refuse, withdraw, or disqualify entries at your sole discretion. Participants agree to accept the decision of the Sponsor as final and binding. 

4. Entry Period 

Entries will be accepted from March 1, 2022 until March 14, 2022, midnight EST. Late entries may still be acknowledged on the Fallow Tales website and social media pages, but will not be considered eligible for contest placement or prizes. 

5. How to Enter

To enter please upload an original illustrated picture to either Facebook or Instagram and tag @fallowtalesdeer. Alternatively, you may email a picture of the illustration to contactfallowtales@gmail.com

Each illustration will be considered one entry submission. There is no limit to how many illustrations can be submitted. Multiple illustrations may be uploaded in a single post with a single tag; these will still be considered separate entries. 

Entrants under the age of 18 must have approval from a parent or guardian. 

Fraudulent methods of entry or circumvention of the rules may result in the Sponsor invalidating a participant’s entries. 

Entries with crude or inappropriate language or depictions (as deemed by the Sponsor’s discretion) will be automatically disqualified. 

No purchase necessary. Purchases will not increase chances of winning. An alternative entry option is to email contactfallowtales@gmail.com with a brief statement of entry. This will be considered one entry. 

6. Prizes 

Base prize: All entrants will be acknowledged on fallowtales.com and Fallow Tales social media pages. 

All entrants will be contacted to receive a downloadable, printable digital illustration of Pearl, Jovie, Jeff, or Phoebe (winner’s choice of one). 

Up to (3) winners will receive special acknowledgment on fallowtales.com and Fallow Tales social media pages. Winners will be contacted to receive a free copy of The Great Escape: A Tale of Two Fallow. (Digital or physical–the winner’s choice) [Estimated retail value: $12.99] 

One Grand Prize winner will receive special acknowledgement on fallowtales.com and Fallow Tales social media pages. The winner will be contacted to receive a free copy of The Great Escape: A Tale of Two Fallow. (Digital or physical–the winner’s choice) The winner will be contacted to have their art featured in an upcoming edition of The Great Escape: A Tale of Two Fallow. [Estimated retail value: $12.99]

Prizes may be substituted at your sole discretion and in conference with prize winners. Acceptance of the prize grants you permission to use the winner’s entry for advertising, promotion, and trade without further compensation or remuneration unless prohibited by law. 

7. Odds 

The odds of winning a base prize is 100%. The odds of winning additional prizes is dependent upon the number of eligible entries received. 

8. Selection and Notification of the Winner 

Winners will be selected upon the following criteria: 

Each entrant will receive a base prize for participating. 

Additional prizes will be selected by a panel of judges under supervision of the Sponsor. The judges will be 4 fallow deer by the names of Pearl, Jovie, Jeff, and Phoebe. To be clear: submissions will be copied, printed, and placed around the deer enclosure. (No original submissions will be used for this stage.) Each deer will then choose a winner at their own discretion. They will express their vote through chewing on or through the submission, pawing with their hoof toward the submission, waving their head around the submission, or generally hanging around the submission for a long enough time that it is determined by the Sponsor that the deer has voted. No animals will be harmed in the judging of this contest. 

The Grand Prize Winner will be chosen at the discretion of the Sponsor but will be based on measures such as appropriate subject material, depiction of the theme, and artistic expression. Other measures may be used at the discretion of the Sponsor. 

The Sponsor will announce winners and the Grand Prize Winner on March 15, 2022. The Sponsor will also reach out to winners and the Grand Prize winner via social media or email (corresponding to how the entry was submitted) to notify them. Winners who do not respond within 2 weeks of the announcement and subsequent inquiry (March 29, 2022) will forfeit their prize. An alternate winner may be considered.

Fallow Tales is not liable for a winner’s failure to receive notification of winning if he/she/they provided an incorrect email address or if their email/computer/social media security settings caused the prize notification to go into the spam or junk folder. 

Receipt of the prize is upon the condition of compliance with federal, state, and local laws, etc. 

9. Rights Granted by the Entrant 

Submission of an entry grants the Sponsor the right to use the participant’s submission and statements about the contest, for publicity, news, advertising, promotional purposes, trade, as a feature of Fallow Tales books back matter and so forth, without any further notice, review, consent, compensation or remuneration. 

Entries must be original work and not violate anyone’s proprietary or intellectual property rights. Entries that infringe upon the intellectual property rights of others will result in disqualification. You shall defend or settle against such claims at your sole expense, and You shall indemnify, defend and hold harmless the Sponsor from any suit, etc. 

10. Terms & Conditions 

The Sponsor reserves the right to modify, suspend, cancel or terminate the contest in the event that non-authorized human intervention, a bug or virus, fraud, or other causes beyond your control impact or corrupt the security, fairness, proper conduct, or administration of the contest/giveaway. 

The Sponsor retains the rights to disqualify anyone who violates the terms, as well as rights to seek damages to the fullest extent permitted by law in cases where a participant has caused deliberate damage or undermined the legal operation of the promotion. 

11. Limitation of Liability 

The participant’s entry into the contest constitutes his/her/their agreement to release and hold harmless the Sponsor and its subsidiaries, affiliates, employees, etc., against

all claims liability, illness, injury, death, loss, etc., that occurs directly or indirectly from participation in the contest or use/misuse of the awarded prize. 

12. Disputes 

The entrant agrees, as a condition of participating in the promotion, that disputes not resolved between the participant and your company shall be individually resolved exclusively before a court located in Maine, without resorting to any form of class action. Entrants waive all rights to punitive, incidental, or consequential damages, and they waive all rights to have damages multiplied or increased. 

13. Privacy Policy 

For purposes of distributing prizes we may require you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information, including but not limited to your name, email address, and postal address. The information that we collect will be used to contact or identify you. We will not retain this information beyond the distribution of prizes. We will not sell this information to any third parties for any reason.

Each entry implies a complete release of Facebook and Instagram. The contest hosted by Fallow Tales is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Facebook or Instagram. 

16. Affirmation of Acceptance of and Agreement to All of the Official Rules 

By entering the contest, the entrant has affirmatively reviewed, accepted, and agreed to all of the official rules.

ART CONTEST–Where do deer hide during a storm? 

This month’s theme is based on The Great Escape: A Tale of Two Fallow. When Pearl and Jovie go missing after a huge storm, Sterling is afraid she will never see her friends again. Thanks to the community in their home town of Shapleigh, Maine, the friends are reunited at last. This book is based on a true story! 

Draw a picture based on the question: Where would you hide if you were a deer in a storm? 

To enter: 

Have an adult take a picture of your drawing(s) and upload it to Facebook or Instagram. Tag @fallowtales or use #fallowtalesartcontest to make sure we see it! You can also have an adult email a picture of your drawing(s) to contactfallowtales@gmail.com 

There is no limit on the number of entries! 

There is also no age limit for entries; entrants under 18 must have permission from a parent or guardian
